One north east and Nissan have pledged to provide atleast 619 charging points across the region by the end of the year  With the additional funding from the office of low emission vehicles (OLEV) will see this number increase to 1300 by 2013.

The installation of the first 40 points should be finished in the coming weeks, most of the points will be installedon streets and at super markets and commercial sites.
