Following George Osbourne's announcement to scrap the Furture Jobs Fund scheme, Social Enterprises are set to be back in demand to support the long term unemployed.
One group who has set up a new initiative is, the Social Enterprise and Employment Development project (SEED), which is part of Action for Blind People.
The SEED Project started in September 2009 and is set to run for 3 years, with the aim of matching blind and partially sighted people to Social Enterprises for paid placements throughout the North East, Yorkshire and Humber and the West Midlands.
As well as helping people gain valuable experience through training there are also many Social Enterprise, whom could benefit from this skilled and dedicated workforce.
With funding from the Big Lottery, the SEED project is able to provide full support and loan of adaptive equipment.
